It wasn’t my very first day though because I had four visits at the end of last year.

I am in Room One. My teachers name is Mrs Swanson. There are four boys and two girls in my class. I sit at the same table as Kayleigh. I have my own cubbyhole where I keep my hat and my pencil case.

On my first day Mrs Swanson took us to see the school pool and the library. I brought my swimming togs to school every day this week but haven’t been in the pool yet. At the library I chose a book about an elephant. I wrote the alphabet two times, once in upper case and once in lower case.

On my second day I wrote the letter K on a piece of paper and coloured it in with crayon. Then I painted dye over the top. We all took our letters to see this man called Mr Orr (mummy told me he’s the principal) and he gave us each a sticker. I also have a sticker chart in my classroom. I got two purple frog stickers on it today. One was for quietly finding an activity to do, and the other was for reading quietly. And we made envelopes for keeping gold slips in.

On my third day I had a picture of a girl and I had to put clothes on her using collage. Rooms 1, 2 and 3 all went to the assembly room and we sang songs. I didn’t know the song but it had something about Sunshine and Boogie in it. At lunchtime it was too wet to go out so Rooms 2 and 3 came and joined us in our room and we played games.

-Kat

My Birthday

My birthday was very nice. I saw my friend Lucy and I saw Ben from school. I saw Zappo the magician. Victoria and Mummy and Daddy came too. I got given a book to keep and an award necklace.

We went to the swimming pool park and played. We had lunch at the movie theatre. My dad thought I was going to the dentist but he was wrong. I was going to the movies to see a movie called Tangled. It was about a princess called Rapunzel. I liked Rapunzel’s friend because he was funny.

I went to Fisherman’s Table for dinner because it is my favourite restaurant. I had a lovely salad and chicken. I watched the waves and the rocks through the window but I didn’t see any whales. I had a chocolate and caramel ice cream for dessert. I drank a Pink Panther.

I had a really fun day.

-Kat

Kowhai Park

I went to a cool playground in Wanganui.

I played on almost everything.

I went there with all my friends – Caliope, Lulu, Tina, Phoebe, Wayne, and with my Mummy and Victoria.

I liked the water sprinklers and I liked the Helter Skelter slide.

I had Subway for lunch. We went away to Auckland for the weekend. There was me, Mummy, Daddy, Victoria and Mimi. We went to Auckland to see Aunty Gayle. And then at the end of the weekend we took Mimi to the airport and she went back to America. I miss Mimi now.

While we were in Auckland we stayed in a hotel. The best thing about staying in a hotel was that I got to sleep in the same bed with Mummy. Mummy, Victoria and I had one room, and Daddy and Mimi had a different room. We also had a TV in our room! And I got to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and In The Night Garden and Scooby Doo and lots of other cartoons.

The other cool thing was that the Easter Bunny left me and Victoria some chocolates in the hotel garden. We searched all over the garden for our eggs. My last one was very hard to find. We got five eggs each. Then when we got back inside to our room we found even more eggs on our beds!!!

We went to Auckland Zoo with Aunty Gayle. There was a "fruit hunt" where you got a map of the zoo and you had to look around for the different fruit posters around the zoo. I found five of them (the orange, the passionfruit, the mango, the kiwifruit and one other) but I didn't find the mandarin or the pineapple. I was very disappointed when we had to leave the zoo even though I hadn't found them yet. Oh yeah, I also saw some animals.

I also got a new Barbie DVD. Daddy gave me Barbie in a Mermaid Tale which is the newest one, and we watched it in the car and at Aunty Gayle's house and at the hotel. Then when we got home I got Barbie in the Princess and the Pauper and now I have ALL the Barbie movies!!!

Love Kat

My Birthday

My birthday was in January. I had a birthday party. My friend Erik came and so did Jamie-Lee. I asked Carmel to come but she couldn't so I was sad about that. We played pass the parcel and musical cushions. Mummy made me a teddy bear birthday cake. I got lots of presents too. Mostly things for my hair, like headbands and hair ties.

My birthday party was at the weekend but my birthday was actually during the week. So on the day it was my real birthday I got even more presents. I got a music box with a Pegasus on it, and a brand new bunk bed! I also got some princess books. My favourites are Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. I got to have lunch in Palmerston North with Daddy and choose which sheets and blankets I wanted for my bed. And I got a CD player so I can listen to story CD's in bed.

Now I am four. I can't start school until I'm five although I'm SO ready as Mummy says. I'm one of the older ones at my preschool now. Mummy and I went on a visit to Koputaroa School where I'm going to go and I already know half the children in the Year 1 class. My friend Ashley goes there too and she is in Year 2. Mummy said there is a school one day a week for four year olds and I'm really looking forward to doing that.

-Kat

Merry Christmas

I have written anything for ages. It has been so busy. I now go to Kereru three days a week - Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Victoria comes with me on a Tuesday. On Thursdays we go to Playcentre with Mummy. On Tuesday afternoons I go to ballet too. I enjoy it all but sometimes I get a bit tired. My favourite thing to do is to watch TV when we get home.

But I won't be going back to Kereru or Playcentre or ballet for a while because it is summer holidays now and everything is closed. That means I get to stay home with Mummy and I like that. It also means I can watch something!!!

I have lots of friends now. Erik is my friend from Playcentre but he goes to school now so I don't see him much any more. I went to his birthday party and he is going to come to mine. Carmel is one of my friends from Kereru but she went away. I hope she is going to come to my birthday party too.

Speaking of birthday's, last month was Victoria's birthday. We went to Lollipops. She is two now. When it is my birthday I am going to be four. I can sing the happy birthday song in Maori. Hari huri tau kia koe.

Last week Mummy and Daddy and Victoria and I went to Wellington for the day. We went to Te Papa. I still don't like the wild boar. We also went to Capital E. I got to do a screen test for a TV programme called Giggles.
I love watching TV and it would be cool to be on TV too and to meet all my favourite stars. I got to stand in front of the camera and had to do all the things the man said to do. It was fun. You can see a copy of my screen test online but you can't hear any words. Just imagine he is telling me what to do. At the end I was supposed to fly away like a bird but Victoria decided to come and join me instead.

Then of course we have just had Christmas. I got a trampoline and a locket and a new long skirt and a fashion designer computer game and a play-tent and lots of other cool things too. We've had lots of fun on the trampoline but it's been too wet to use it much. My Daddy and I went to the video store and I got LOTS of Barbie movies!

Daddy is also going to take me and Victoria to the movies today. And we're going to go to the zoo soon too. It's cool having Daddy home because we get to do so many things.

Luv Kat

September

We've been doing heaps of cool things lately. It was a long drive there and back but we had a good time. I saw the lions and the red panda and the giraffes and the cheetahs. I ate a hot dog and chips. Afterwards we had lots of fun in the gift shop. Mummy bought me some little zoo animals and Victoria a ball with a butterfly in it. I wanted to go to the playground next to the zoo but Mummy said it was getting too late and we had to go.

Before that, Uncle Richard and Auntie Mardie came to visit. It was really cool. We hung out with them and played with them. We went to the playground and to Nana's house.

Last week Mummy took me to ballet. I like the dress ups and the Duplo. Sometimes when we go to Playcentre we go to the gym. I love jumping off things. I used to be scared but now I love it. I climb on the coffee table at home and jump off that too. When I went to Playcentre this week, my friend Erik came home with us afterwards and we played with Lego and Transformers. It was really fun. I danced with Mummy and Daddy and with the teachers. It was on in the evening. I had lollies and chippies and popcorn for dinner!!! I danced to all my favourite songs - like Katy Perry and Hi-5. The next day when I went to Kereru all the decorations were still up in the art room and we had another disco after lunch.

I have a Star Chart at home. Every night when I sleep through the night, I find a star in the morning when I get up. When I get 20 stars I get a reward. Last month my reward was a trip to Lollipops. Mummy and Daddy and Victoria and I went there one weekend. It was a long drive but it was so much fun. I played on the bouncy castle, and in the jungle gym I pretended to be a princess and Mummy had to rescue me. And I went on the merry-go-round and did dress ups. We all had lots of fun. I had so much fun that I fell asleep on the drive home :-(

I have been playing heaps of games lately. Mummy got Candyland out of the toy library and we had heaps of fun playing it. When I win I get to eat candy, but I don't like it when I lose. I also enjoy playing Memory, Snap, Go Fish and Dominoes.

Today Mummy and I played with Lego and that was really cool. We played Lego and drank Milo and I didn't even get out of my pyjamas today. I've had lots of fun playing with both.

I also do lots of playing at creche every week. The only thing I don't really like about creche is mat time. I have to lie down and be quiet.

Mummy took me and Victoria to visit Playcentre and Kindy as well. I really enjoyed playing at both places and didn't want to go home. Maybe we can go back again some time.

And we've also started going to playgroup and music group in Levin, just like we used to do when we lived in Wellington. Only they've got much better toys at Levin. I like the dress ups, especially the cowgirl outfit, and the balance beam and the roller coaster.

Last weekend it was really windy here and the power went out. That means we couldn't watch television. The best bit about it was that Mummy and Daddy took us out to dinner at McDonald's. I got a book about the rainforest and I got to eat the pasta zoo. I was also allowed fizzy drink! When we got home it was getting dark and we still didn't have any power so we had to have candles. It was really exciting.

Luv Kat

My birthday and other bits

It was my birthday the other week. I got a dolls house for my birthday and a castle and some Polly Pocket dolls. I named the dolls Lou and Poppy. I don't know where Poppy is right now. I love my dolls house. I play with it every day.

Also for my birthday we went to Lollipops for lunch. There was Mummy and Daddy and Victoria and Aunty Tina and Phoebe and Por Por. I had lots of fun playing and climbing and jumping. The other kids there weren't so nice though and didn't want to share (I mean the school holiday program kids, not Victoria and Phoebe).

Also for my birthday I got given a Putt Putt computer game and an Alphabet Express computer game which teaches me what words start with what letters. I love trying to guess what letter words start with. Only sometimes it gets a bit confusing - like why does "circus" start with C when it sounds like an S?

Also this month we've been to visit Aunty Lou and Caliope heaps. Victoria and I even had a sleepover there without Mummy and Daddy. It was fun. I played Putt Putt on Caliope's computer. And we went to the playground and the swimming pool and the market.

Victoria and I also went to creche last week for the first time. Mummy stayed for part of the time too. We're going back again tomorrow. I had a good time. I did dress ups and danced to the music and played with the toys and made a pretend picnic basket. We also had quiet time on the mat when we all lay down and listened to the music. I'm looking forward to going again tomorrow.

Well, that's all for this month.

Luv Kat

Hanging out with Daddy

Things I like about hanging out with Daddy ...

1. Last week we went to a New Years Eve party. Mummy says that at New Years you make "resolutions", which is a big word meaning a promise to do something different. Well this year I promise to blog more often. I haven't been able to blog much in the last year. I used to have naps/quiet time every afternoon, and I would sometimes get on the computer (without Mummy knowing) and either play Reader Rabbit or surf the internet or blog. But now I am a big girl and I don't need naps any more. But that means no time for the computer either.

So here's a run down of the last year ...

JANUARY - My birthday!!!

FEBRUARY - I started going to creche once a week. It was heaps of fun. I loved playing with the Duplo, and reading books by myself. I learnt heaps of stuff, like how to use scissors, and how to paint, and lots of new songs to sing.

MARCH - It was Easter time. I love Easter. I got lots of chocolate eggs. I didn't really like having to find the eggs though. But later in the year Mummy taught me a game called "hot and cold". It took me a while to get the hang of it but now I like to hide things for Mummy and Daddy to find. I think it's more fun if I always hide them in the same place.

APRIL - Mummy and Daddy took the sides off my cot, so now I sleep in a big girl bed. I can also get out of bed whenever I want to. Sometimes I play with my toys at night if I'm not sleepy. In the mornings I get up when there's a 7 on my clock and I go to Mummy and Daddy's room.

MAY - I stopped wearing nappies and started wearing knickers instead. Sometimes I get so busy that I forget to go toilet. But most of the time I go toilet when I need to. I don't need to use the potty any more, I can climb up onto the toilet all by myself.

We went to the circus and I saw the clowns and the juggler and the acrobats and the Witch with the Itch and the Talking Frog and the Black Knight and more.

JUNE - Mimi and Poppa and Auntie Mardie and Uncle Richard came to visit. We went to Lollipops and Junglerama with them. And I got to play with them, and watch cartoons with them and do dances for them.

JULY - Auntie Gayle came to visit. I got to go on a ferry boat. On the ferry boat there were people dressed up as animals, doing dances. We went to the South Island and visited Mummy's cousin Kathy. I watched Nemo and played with toys. We also went to Rotorua. I watched DVD's there too. I loved having Auntie Gayle here because she played with me all the time. Auntie Gayle took me to see Dora at the theatre.

AUGUST - I started going to Playcentre with Mummy and Victoria. I like playing with the dolls house the most. I also like the dress ups and the books and the sandpit. I don't like it when the boys run around and scare me.

Mummy took me and Victoria to the Parent & Child Show, where I saw Dora and Backpack walking around. I got to say Hi to Dora, and she gave me a sticker. I got my face painted like a tiger.

SEPTEMBER - A lady called Gina came and looked after Victoria and I for a few days. Gina's son Jed came too, he is the same age as me. We went to Tiny Town and Te Papa. I love Te Papa, but I don't like the wild boar. It scares me.

OCTOBER - I got chicken pox. It wasn't very nice. I was very miserable, and tired, and itchy.

NOVEMBER - It was Victoria's birthday. I got to help her open her presents. Then we went to the Santa parade in town and I saw Santa. And lots of other things too.

DECEMBER - We moved to a new house. I have a new bedroom. I also have lots of new toys that I got for Christmas. I love playing with my toys. I love playing Shop and I love playing with my Little People and making them do things.

Victoria got a floor puzzle with the alphabet on it (that can be arranged in different ways). I know most of my letters now. Mummy and I like to play a game where she says a letter and I jump to it. I'm really good at jumping now too.

Well, that's it for 2008. Next month I'll post some more.

Love KAT

Telling Stories

[Daddy] Daddy stole Kathleen's tummy and sold it on TradeMe. How much did he get?

[Kathleen] Eleven

[Daddy] Eleven what?

[Kathleen] Eleven tummies

[Daddy] So I got eleven tummies. What do we do?

[Kathleen] Abre! [Spanish for open]

[Daddy] And who do we meet there?

[Kathleen] A fairy!

[Daddy] And will she take us to the tummies?

[Kathleen] Yes! She takes us in a tunnel.

[Daddy] And what happens there.

[Kathleen] We dance to a song. I got lots of really neat presents. My favourite is the Little People blocks. Thank you Aunty Tina. I love to play games with the Little People figures. Sometimes I make them go shopping or to the movies or the jungle or to rescue each other. I love making up all sorts of games and stories.

Also for my birthday I got some books and clothes, and some Play Doh and a Blackboard. I like to play with all my presents. I also got a tea set and I love to make cups of pretend tea for my Little People and my teddy bears, and of course for Mummy and Daddy.

We went to the Teddy Bears picnic last month. It was fun. The day before I had my own teddy bears picnic at home, and I made tea for all my teddy bears.

This is me and Mummy with Sandy Bear, Snuggles Bear and Kaloo Bear

This is me and ALL my bears having our own picnic at home

Mummy says I have 9 teddy bears. One day I will be able to count that high. I can count all the way up to 10 but I usually get a bit stuck after I get to 4 or 5.

I like learning numbers though. I like watching NumberJacks. I also like learning letters. My favourite toy at the moment is Alphabet Pal, even though I've had it for ages. I am learning to recognise the shapes that make letters and numbers. My favourite song on Alphabet Pal is Yankee Doodle and I know that I have to push the Y button.

I have also moved into a new bedroom since the last time I blogged. Victoria now sleeps in my old bedroom and my new room is really BIG. I have heaps of room for all my toys. Even enough room to ride my bike. I love playing in my new room with Mummy or Daddy.

Here I am playing in my room - you can see some of my toys in the background

-Love Kat

Merry Kerfa

I love Christmas, but I call it "Kerfa"

I saw Santa the other day. Mummy and Daddy took me to meet him at the shopping mall a couple of weeks ago. I sat on his knee and he gave me a storybook. Then last week I also saw him at playgroup. He gave me a stamp on my hand and some chocolates. Then last night Santa CAME TO OUR HOUSE! I didn't see him but he left me and Victoria lots of presents.

Santa gave me a Dora tricycle to ride outside, and Aunty Lou gave me a Dora ride-on car to ride inside.

I also got...

4 Dr Seuss books, a moving pictures book, a book about colours, The Little Engine That Could, a Spot book, Just Me & My Dad, some Little Princess books, and a peekaboo book

3 top & pants outfits, 4 dresses, a geek t-shirt, a summer hat, a pair of sandals, and my favourite Dora PJ's

And I got a puzzle and some DVD's (Sesame Street and Electic Company). I also got a Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy doll, but Mummy said I have to give one of them to my sister.

My sister got lots of presents too. Mostly she got clothes. But she is too little to open the presents so I was allowed to open all of hers as well. Cool.

Daddy took me to the playground on my trike and I played there. I played hopscotch and I played with the sticks and stones. Who needs expensive presents anyway...

I really wish it was Kerfa every day.

-Kat

Baby Sister

I have a new baby sister. Sometimes I like to lick her too.

She doesn't do much right now. She cries a lot and sleeps a lot. Mummy and Daddy are always telling me to leave her alone because she is sleeping. It started off really well. Mummy and I went to Music Group, and I got to play with the teddy, and the musical instruments, and the scarves, and the bubbles. It was fun. Then Mummy and I went to the park because it was such a nice day. We had a picnic in the park and had sandwiches and juice from the dairy.

Then Mummy said I could go and play on the playground. I climbed up the steps and crawled through the tunnel. Then I was going to go on the slide.

I'm not really sure what happened next. I think I tripped. All I know is that suddenly I was sliding down the slide really, really fast, on my tummy, and I could see the ground coming up towards me. It really, really hurt when I hit the ground. I landed on my face. Mummy picked me up and gave me lots of cuddles until I felt better. Then she cleaned me up like Nurse Nancy would. I had dirt in my mouth and cuts all over my nose and chin.

Mummy said I should have put my arms out in front of me, but it all happened so fast and I didn't know to do that. I will remember that next time. I hope there isn't a next time.

It hasn't put me off slides though. Once I got over the initial shock, and the pain went away, me and Mummy were off playing on the see saws and on the really big slide (Mummy went down with me this time though!).

After a while Mummy and I went home and I had a nap. I was really tired. Then that evening, Auntie Lou Lou and Caliope (aka Carpy) and Mimi all came over to visit. It was so exciting to see them. We had pizza for dinner. Yum yum. I wanted to play with Mimi's purse and with Lou Lou's purse, but they wouldn't let me. Boo. But I got to climb all over them and give them lots of cuddles and do some jumping. I like jumping.

After dinner, all the grown ups were doing boring things so I went into the kitchen to see what I could find to play with. I saw Aunty Lou Lou's cup of tea sitting on the bench. I like drinking Daddy's tea. I thought I would have some of Aunty Lou Lou's tea.

I reached up to grab her cup. I didn't know that it was so heavy, and I didn't know it would tip over. And I really didn't know that it was so hot. It was very, very hot. It tipped all over my head and left shoulder and it really, really hurt. It hurt even more than falling down the slide. It was also really scary because everyone kept putting these wet towels over my head and I didn't like that at all.

Mummy and Daddy took me to the hospital and I saw the Doctor and lots of Nurses. The nurse gave me some Pamol and some toys to play with, and I sat on the bed with Mummy and Daddy and looked at the books and played with the toys. Then the nurses came back and put a big bandage on my shoulder and around my tummy. But it didn't hurt.

So now I have a sore shoulder, and a sore ear, and a sore nose. But I haven't really noticed it too much because it's been so exciting having Auntie Lou Lou and Caliope here. But I am definitely going to be more careful from now on.

- Kat

Bye Bye

Bye Bye Uncle Runkle and Aintie Maidie and Poppa.

Yesterday we all went to the airport. I saw the planes. It was neat.

Poppa and Auntie Mardie and Uncle Richard all got on a plane with a kangaroo on it. Then they went away. Mummy said I won't see them for a long time. Mimi was crying. I was sad too. Mummy says they have gone to America but I don't know what that means. Mummy says I went to America once, but I don't remember.

This is a photo of Uncle Runkle and Auntie Mardie, taken up at the mountain. Which is when I started calling him Uncle Runkle instead of Uncle Richard. I had lots of fun eating the snow. That was my favourite part. Mummy and Auntie Mardie and I went down the mountain on a sled. It was fun and scary at the same time. It was a very long drive to get to the mountain and to get home again. I liked spending the time with Mimi and Auntie Mardie and Uncle Richard but I also got very tired and it was good to get home again.

-Love Kat

Mid Year Xmas

Last weekend we celebrated what Mummy and Daddy called a "Mid Winter Christmas". I call it "present time". I got loads of really cool presents including lots of warm winter clothes and some great books. My new favourite book is Nurse Nancy.

The funny thing about some of the presents though, is that they seemed kinda familiar. Check out these photos and you'll see what I mean...

Here I am on my birthday opening a present with Mummy. Some little farm animals from Aunty Tina. I never saw them again after this.

Then here I am again last week, opening what looks like the very same box. I wondered where those animals got to. I love playing with them now and leaving them all over the house for Mummy to find.

Once again, this photo was taken on my birthday and shows me unwrapping an electric keyboard piano from my Mimi and Poppa.

Then here I am again six months later unwrapping the very same keyboard. I love playing music on it. There is a demo button that plays the same three songs over and over again. I LOVE IT. Mummy even learnt to play some of my favourite songs like Old McDonald.

I guess it doesn't matter if I've seen them before, because there's nothing quite so much fun as ripping paper and opening presents. It's almost as much fun to play with the paper as it is the present.

Love Ya ... And taking it back out.

Here's a picture of me helping Mummy to do the baking. The fact that she was outside at the time hanging out laundry, and the fact that I got into the cupboard by myself is irrelevant. I wanted to make some bikkies...

Here I am driving the truck when we went to Palmerston North the other weekend. It's a bit of a problem reaching the pedals though.

Here I am mopping the floor. What a big helper. Of course this was after I tipped the cat's water bowl all over the floor.

And, lastly, here I am helping to put the clean litter into the rat cage. I think maybe more of it ended up on me than in the cage. LOL!

Love Kat

Bleah!

Look what my meanie mummy did to me ...............

-Kat

Merry Christmas

Hi all. Just wanted to say I really like this Christmas thing. Why don't I get presents every day???? I don't understand. Mummy says I have to wait until my birthday to get more presents. I really like ripping the paper. It is so exciting. Especially when everyone claps and cheers. What I don't understand is that normally they tell me off for ripping paper.

First I got to go see Father Christmas. He didn't say anything to me but I got my photo taken with him. I'm still not sure what he's all about but Mummy and Daddy insist I will like him.

Then on Christmas Day I got up and before I could even have breakfast Mummy and Daddy gave me all these presents to open. Then we went to Mimi and Poppa's house and I opened even more presents. Then we went to Nana and Grandy's house for lunch and I ate some lamb and veges, and I ate lots and lots of jelly and ice cream! I was so tired by the time we went home that I fell asleep in the car.

I got given so much stuff. Mostly I got clothes. I got 8 tops, 4 pairs of pants, 1 pair of overalls, 1 pair of shoes and 1 swimsuit. Also I got an Alphabet Pal, a Maisy DVD, a book about Kittens, a bucket and spade, and a big swing from Mimi that Daddy can hang up either inside or outside for me. I find it a bit scary right now though.

Here's a photo of me with all my presents.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY.

Love Kat

Guess who I saw today

Mummy took me to see a parade today. My favourite games are:

PEEKABOO. Daddy or Mummy will throw a towel on my head and I can't see anything until I pull it off. It's lots of fun. Sometimes they put it on their head and I get to pull it off to see if they're still there or not. Sometimes I pick the towel up myself too. Another variant of this game is when they hide behind the couch - see below.

CHASING Mummy and Daddy around the house, and finding them when they hide around corners. Mummy or Daddy will crawl down the hallway and I will crawl after them, chasing them, squealing my loudest war-cry. They are still faster than me and they will hide behind the couch or in the bathroom and then jump out at me. It's really fun.

ZERBERTS. I don't think zerberts are funny when people give them to me, but I absolutely LOVE giving zerberts to Mummy. I do them on her tummy and she laughs so much. It is really, really funny. Watch this and you'll see why:

-Kat

Watch out world ... And if I get them all moving in the same direction, I can get places!!!!

And I've discovered that there is just soooo much to play with in our house. There's the X-box, and the PC, and loads of DVD's and CD's, and the coffee table, and the heater. And they are all within my reach now!!!

My only complaint is that it takes me ages to get across the room to reach these new toys, and as soon as I get there Mummy comes and takes them away from me. Today the living room ... tomorrow the world.

-Kat

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://katisaham.blogspot.com/2006/08/watch-out-world-here-i-come.html' title='Watch out world ... Especially Mummy. I can't help but smile whenever either of them walks in the room, and I get really unhappy whenever they leave.

I LIKE: Playing with my best friend Baby-In-The-Mirror. She's always there when I go to see her, and she's always in the same sort of mood I'm in. She follows me wherever I go too - she's always there whenever I see a mirror or a window or even a shiny door knob. I don't know what her real name is ... Baby-In-The-Mirror is her Native American name (you know, kind of like Dances-With-Wolves or Runs-With-Scissors). Apparently my Native American name is Dribbles-Like-A-Waterfall.

I LIKE: Toys, toys, toys. I'm not fussy, any toy will do. Even one that's not meant to be a toy. Such as a remote control. Remote controls make great toys. So does paper. And computer keyboards. I have a toy that when I hit the button it plays music - but when I hit the button on the keyboard I don't hear any music. Sometimes it makes a beep but that's not the same. Sometimes I hear Mummy or Daddy telling me off ... and that's REALLY funny.

I LIKE: Food. I really like bananas and pears. Baby rice is good too. I'm not very keen on potatoes or pumpkin, but I always love to try new foods even if it turns out I don't like them. I can't wait until I'm big enough to use the spoon myself.

I LIKE: Pina colada's and getting caught in the rain. Oops sorry, wrong blog.

Luv ya all. TTFN.

-Kat

Mmmm ... Finally I've got the hang of this sitting up thing and have been able to access Mummy's computer. I've started this new blog as kind of a view from the cot. My old blog is still accessible, however since I saved the password on my inter-uterine computer I no longer have the ability to update it. So everyone should modify their bookmarks to point to this blog instead.

Well, what can I say? It's been a hard road adjusting to this new life - bright lights, strange sounds, strange sights and even stranger people. And that's just Daddy! Seriously though, I quite like the Mummy and Daddy I've been given. They look after me pretty well and make sure I have plenty to eat and things to play with. They also seem to like it a lot when I sleep, which is a bit annoying. I'd far rather be up playing than stuck in bed sleeping. There's so much to see and do in this world and I don't want to waste all my time in bed.

My favourite things so far are my Kaloo Bear, and my book Snowy Bear and Friends (the plot is a bit weak - I mean whoever heard of a polar bear and penguin being friends! - but it's really good to chew on!).

I love playing with my parents. My favourite games are bouncing up and down on their knees, and trying to bite their noses and fingers. Right now my mouth hurts a lot though. They say it's because I'm getting teeth. I'm not sure what these teeth things are for, just a pain in the gum if you ask me. Although on the other hand I am really looking forward to eating some of the interesting looking foods I see Mummy and Daddy eating all the time.

One thing I really hate is getting dressed, especially putting my arms into sleeves. I get really scared that my hands are going to go into the sleeves and never come out again. I tell you, this world is so strange that you can't take anything for granted.

Well I'd better get going now. Mummy and Daddy think I've been having a nap so it's time to go pretend to wake up.

-Kat
